The Famous Rainbow Cake

Annabelle and I have been dying to make the rainbow cake that has been circulating blogworld for a while now! Yesterday we finally did, to celebrate the end of the school year! (Idea and recipe stolen from this blog.) The picture is terrible-taken by Darren's iphone since my battery was dead! We celebrated by cooking out with Max's best friend and his family. Annabelle loved making and eating the cake so much that she told me she wants this to be her wedding cake when she gets married! Perfectly fitting, I thought!

Ditto 2nd Grade Field Day

Leighton & Max

Just a few pics of Max's Field Day today! He insisted that our whole family be there and was feeling very competitive this morning! What a fun day and memory for them!

She Can Read!!!

Annabelle had her "I Can Read" party this week! We started this with Max, because he had such a hard time learning to read and worked SO hard, that we felt he needed motivation and a reward. Annabelle has been waiting to celebrate her accomplishment for a while! She has worked hard this year and we are so proud of her progress! I hope she enjoys reading for a long, long time! Way to go, Sis!

Soccer Party

Soccer is over and we celebrated with tons of sugar and lots of giggles!

Roasted Tomato Soup

I made this last night, mainly for myself, and it was a big hit! I have never liked tomato soup, probably because of the way the one in a can smells. But I saw Tyler Florence make this on TV a while back and I have been dying to make it! I roast all my vegetables, so roasted tomatoes sounded really good. I used homemade chicken broth, which I think makes a big difference, and I didn't use any cream. It was so good that even Simon ate a whole bowl of it! Max requested that I make it again, and I definitely will! You can find the recipe here!
