Big Girl

Sis wanted to ride her bike without training wheels this past weekend, so we worked on it! She wants to be able to ride a "big girl bike" at the beach when we go in a month. She did great in the grass, but is leery of riding/falling on the concrete. Of course, Simon was not going to be left out, so he rode around a bit too!

Seeking the Lord

As some of you know, we are in the process of looking for a new job. Not really a job, more like our next step/life ministry. We desperately want to spend as much of our short time here on earth working in the spiritual realm as we can. The Lord brought this psalm to my heart this morning, and it is our prayer through this process...

Psalm 123:1-2

To Thee I lift up my eyes,

O Thou who art enthroned in the heavens!

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,

As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress;

So our eyes look to the Lord our God,

Until He shall be gracious to us.

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills-

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-

He who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, He who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-

the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm-

He will watch over your life;

the Lord will watch over your coming and going

both now and forevermore.

Potting Soil is Fun

Simon helped plant some beans last night, and Max couldn't stop laughing because he knows there is poop in potting soil. Of course, all 3 kids were in the bucket by the end of the evening! We think dirt is Simon's love language.

A Little Cup of Mexican Hot Chocolate

I just stumbled across this blog and LOVED it! One of the things that Darren and I love is good food, especially Mexican food! We are always on a quest to find the best and most authentic. We have also become very brave in trying to make things ourselves, in our quest to satisfy a craving. The very first thing we made was flour tortillas-it was an act of desperation while we were living in Costa Rica (they eat corn, obviously!). Right now Darren is dying to make horchata, his favorite drink of all time! The recipes on this blog are right up our alley!

Room Decor

I forgot to post these pictures, but they were too cute to leave out! Annabelle decorated her room for Easter over the weekend. We especially appreciated her creative use of plastic easter eggs!

Easter

What a fun day, with tons of good food! We moved the easter egg hunt inside, and everyone was looking for Aunt Tracy's golden egg. Of course, Max found it and there were lots of tears from those who didn't. He was ecstatic at the $10 bill that was inside, but there was lots of good candy for the runners-up. What a wonderful day to celebrate His death and resurrection!
