The Long Road to Lindale

We just dropped off Max for his first week of day camp! The camp is called Rockin' C Ranch, and it is a working ranch, so lots of farm and horse stuff-Max will be in heaven! It was a last minute decision, after I worked through my issues of letting him go (he's too young, he'll be too tired, I'm not ready for this, etc.!) He was thrilled to go! Annabelle, on the other hand, has been crying all morning "I just want Bubba!" I tried to cheer her up with donuts, but it hasn't worked yet! We miss you already, Max!

Crazy Love

I just finished this book that Mitzi recommended to me and I loved it! She was right- it was easy to read and challenging. My favorite part was the last chapter. It was like the "so what?" Basically, he encouraged the reader to ask and seek God on what to do after reading the book...not to model your actions after someone else, but to allow God to be creative with our lives and what they look like. A great pick for anyone whose stack of books to read is dwindling!

I Love The U.S.A.

O.K., so after 2 doctor's appointments, I remember one reason why I love the U.S.A.! The systems here are so efficient...things are so simple and take alot less time. Organization isn't as highly valued in Panama, so our doctor's appointments were an "all day thing." Here, they try to get you in and out as quickly as possible, which is fine with me! I greatly appreciate, but hate hospitals, doctor's offices, etc. It also helps to be living in a smaller town...no hour long commute downtown with ghastly parking fees like before! I am totally enjoying the conveniences that our culture thrives on!

My Slugger

Max had his first T-ball game! Can I say he is the best one on the team? I just did. Cupcakes and gatorade as rewards are good motivations too. Look at that long, lean body! Where did he come from?

Promotion, Demotion

Simon has been promoted from sleeping in the laundry room to Max's room! They both get up too early for me, but I do have a sweet husband who gets up with the boys while the girls sleep a little longer.
Our super fun cat, however, has been demoted-to the laundry room. She has been traveling from room to room at night trying to find someone to play with. That, my friend, is over. Around here, we like to sleep at night. He who stands in the way of sleep, will be sorry.

The Sports Era Begins

We are officially making the transition into "big kid stuff!" You know your toddlers are growing up when they start doing sports. I was able to put alot alot of this off while we were in Latin America, aside from a short stint of ballet in Panama and soccer in Costa Rica. Now, Max is more and more interested in sports, rather than just tools and woodwork! He is playing a short season of T-ball to see if he likes it, while Annabelle is trying out gymnastics. Today was her first day...Max and I could not stop laughing at her attempted "front roll." Let's all hope she takes after her Daddy in these matters! Max has had one T-ball practice, and likes it so far. If all else fails, he sure looks cute in a baseball cap!
