37 Weeks...

and apparently, I'm not fat! We went to the doctor last week, and when I got on the scale, this is what she said, and I'm not kidding! "Well, you have gained 7 pounds, but you don't look fat!" I was dying! Did she really just use the word "fat" with an extremely pregnant woman??? No political correctness here! We have been laughing about it ever since! Otherwise, no news!

Baptism Pics

My camera battery died as soon as we got to church yesterday, But Abi (Max's teacher) took some for us! Thanks, Abi!!!! By the way, Annabelle is closing her eyes on purpose-she and Max took turns and thought it was hilarious.

Tu Fidelidad

Max was baptized at church this morning! Although he received Christ last year while we were in Costa Rica, it took him a while to warm up to the idea of baptism. Something about being dunked under water did not appeal to him! When the opportunity came around a few weeks ago, he decided that he was ready to tell everyone that he is "a part of God's family." Darren got to baptize him, and they both did great. We sang about God's faithfulness in church, and as if I wasn't crying already, we sang the first song that I learned in Spanish. I will never forget the first time I heard it...in my conversation class last year in Costa Rica, our class of 5 girls singing and praising the Lord together with a teacher we all admire. It was a day to be humbled by God's faithfulness to save us and love us. These are the words in English, I think!

Your faithfulness is great
Your faithfulness is incomparable
There is no one like you, blessed God
Your faithfulness is great

Tu fidelidad es grande
Tu fidelidad incomparable es
Nadie como tu, bendito Dios
Grande es tu fidelidad

Creation Pageant!

Max's class had a pageant today to show the parents what they have learned about creation. Of course, it was precious, but even cuter was Max practicing this morning in front of the mirror at 6am. I'm not sure how cute the neighbors thought it was!

Looking Back...

Maybe it's the hormones, but I couldn't help but post these pictures of the last time we carved pumpkins! It was 2 years ago, right before we left the U.S. for Costa Rica! Aren't they precious?

And Today!

We actually found a pumpkin-the kids loved it! Halloween is a little different here. Christians don't celebrate it at all, to our understanding. But we did carve our pumpkin and put it on our kitchen table! We figure somehow it will make the weather here feel cooler, more like fall!

Being Lazy, Enjoying Life

With 5 1/2 weeks to go, we are all trying to enjoy our free time...especially Darren and me! We realize that pretty soon, we will be alot busier, so we are taking advantage of having 2 kids who are a little older, who go to bed early, and who usually sleep all night long! Our friend Jeni was here from Costa Rica for a few days this week, which was wonderful! I need all the distractions I can get these days. Overall we are trying to put our parenting in the Lord's hands and are praying for wisdom in loving and disciplining them while they are young. I really have no idea how people parent without the Lord's help! I know I can't make it half a day on my own! Praise the Lord that He loves them even more than we do!

One Cute Cowboy

Just in case ya'll think we have forgotten our roots, lost our accents, or have turned into Latinos, we haven't! We are still Texans through and through!

33 Weeks!

Hey, everyone! Well, I am starting to get sympathy stares, but little do they know Ihave 7 weeks left! We had another ultrasound last Friday, which we all love! The baby is doing great, and the Mom is trying to persevere until mid-November. Actually, at this point, I think the whole family is trying to make it until November! Annabelle has decided to stop taking naps, so I am creatively trying to figure out how to get one in every day so I won't be cranky! We definitely have more preparations to make, but we have made the big decisions about the hospital, delivery, etc. We can't wait for the big day!
