The entire city of Panama has been on vacation for the past week, and I mean VACATION! Everything in the city shuts down, and the people go to the beach to celebrate Carnaval, which is like Mardi Gras. It was basically started hundreds of years ago by the Catholic religion. They were supposed to give up eating meat for Lent, and this was the celebration before Ash Wednesday and Lent for them to live it up and eat all the meat they could! Now it is an excuse for the entire country to party! The Christian community here usually goes to the countryside and camp out, so as not to be associated with the people who are going crazy. Many of the churches go camping as a group!We stay in the city because it is so empty and you can drive wherever you want without the traffic! We love it! We have spent lots of time with friends who also stayed here!

sounds like fun! our house is on pinedale pl. (we always call it candy cane lane!) :) in the cul-de-sac! okay, if you are buying a house, does that mean you might be living in it soon???? :)
